The Coronavirus and Your Credit Union:
CICU is committed to providing you continued financial services during this time of fear, worry, and the unknown. We are going to remain open at this time but in order to continue this we need to protect our staff and membership from the spread of bacteria. In an effort to do so, we are conducting business solely through the drive-up and walk-up, to limit personal contact and enforce social distancing. We ask that you reserve the walk-up for loans and account maintenance to keep the traffic flowing and efficient. Please let us know what we can do to help you and your family during this time.
There is no higher priority for our entire CICU family than the health and safety of our members and employees. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and continue to follow guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), international, regional, state and local authorities. We want to assure you that we have comprehensive plans in place in the event the virus progresses.
What you can expect:
We are proactively taking additional steps to disinfect our lobbies and public spaces, and are reinforcing health habits for our staff as well. You can expect to see staff cleaning frequently touched surfaces more often, including doorknobs, phones, handrails, and counters throughout all our facilities. At this time, we will continue to operate all of our branches under normal operating conditions with our full array of services.
If you’re concerned about going out in public, you can conduct many of your common branch transactions using our free Online Banking and Digital Banking services.
With our digital banking tools, you can:
-Check Balances & Verify Transactions: Keep tabs on your account balances in real time.
-Transfer Money: Transfer money between your accounts
-Pay Others: Pay your bills using Bill Pay
-Apply for Loans: Visit our online loan app to apply for personal loans, auto loans, and credit cards.
-Send secure messages: Send messages throughout the day to our staff to ask questions or make a transaction on your account.
-If you have not done so, this is a good time to set up direct deposit of your paychecks, reoccurring deposits, or automatic bill pay, along with your online banking sign in. These services make the day-to-day managing of your money easier and more efficient, while we remain focused on maintaining your financial wellness. We encourage you to contact us to assist with any of these items.
-Also if you have not taken advantage of our debit card program, we advise you to do so. Again, it is our hope to remain open during this time, but if we are forced to close, we want to make sure you are financially taken care of.
If you’re not so keen about using digital banking but still aren’t sure about making your way into one of the offices. You can do one of the following to limit your exposure:
-Use our surcharge free ATMs: withdraw money at one of our locations or use the locator on our website to find the closest surcharge free ATM near you
-Use the Drive Up: Open Monday-Saturday use our drive up to check balances, transfer money, or make a deposit or withdraw.
-Call the office: We encourage you to call our office for any questions you may have, to check balances, make transfers or start a loan application.
What can you do:
•Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
•Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
•Stay home when you are sick.
•Cover your cough or sneeze with the bend of your elbow or a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
•Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
•Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask. ◦CDC does not recommend that people wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
•Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others.
•Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. ◦If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
-Unfortunately, some people and companies are taking advantage of the fears surrounding the spread of the virus. Do not let fear cloud your judgment when accessing links from emails and social media.
-The FTC has published the following article to protect yourself from scammers. https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/2020/02/coronavirus-scammers-follow-headlines?utm_source=govdelivery
-Stay up to date with trustworthy information
-The Centers for Disease Control has created a page where they are posting the most up to date and reliable information at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Our first priority remains keeping CICU employees and members safe and well-informed while doing what we can to help minimize potential spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). I have been a customer for 15 plus yrs. The People that work there are GREAT!! Always friendly with that down home feel. I always go inside rather then the drive up just so I can say hello. Five star rating!!!
Great bank and excellent service! Have been banking with them for more than half my life.
I have been banking with them for over 20 years. I have gotten car loans (twice) from them. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I have never had a bad experience.
Always been excellent with me and all my family. Even got my sister and nephew to join and they love it.
Great bank, great service. what a real bank does, they make sure you and your community are taken care of,
Been a member for 41 years and have always been treated like family. You don't always get that at the big banks.
