Why your deposits are safe
With so many changes in the financial industry today, choosing a safe place for your money can be tough. As a member and an owner of Central Illinois Credit Union (CICU), you should know that CICU is your best choice for financial security.
Federal Protection
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is an independent agency of the United States Government. The NCUA regulates and charters the nation’s federal credit unions, and insures both federal credit unions and state chartered credit unions, including CICU. Each credit union account is insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), an arm of the NCUA, up to $250,000. It is a fact that not one penny of insured savings has ever been lost by a member of a federally-insured credit union. It is also a fact that the NCUSIF is financially stronger than the FDIC fund that insures the nation’s banks—which means your deposit is safer in your credit union than it is in a bank!
